Black and White
These images are a selection from the last few years. I still photograph in black and white, though now much less than in color. To say black and white is my first love in photography is correct, yet I cannot escape the thought that black and white was also the only photographs I saw growing up and some presented as art.

To say black and white is my first love in photography is correct, yet I cannot escape the thought that black and white was also the only photographs I saw growing up and some presented as art.
For this work I have drawn inspiration from graphics and graphic novels, especially Lynd Ward's work. I wanted the images to look as if I had taken photographs of woodcuts and wood etchings
I have strived to emphasize line, form and space in both shooting and printing, as well as being stark with contrasts. Thus to tease and educe a narrative.
